Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday

October 4th @ Meadows

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Judy B., Debbie, Kim, Teri, Brooke, and C.J.

 

Awards:  End of the season awards will be taken care of by budgeted monies as well as pro-shop credit.

 

Awards Luncheon:  End of the season luncheon will be held at the Olive Garden on

Wadsworth Blvd.
  Those interested may play nine holes of golf prior to the luncheon or golf after lunch.  Lunch begins at

 

New Board:  The 2012 Board will be voted on at the luncheon.  This year's board members should plan to meet with their corresponding 2012 board member to transition info and materials. 

 

Pro Shop:  Money on the books must be spent by November 30th.

 

Xmas Party:  The Christmas Party will be held December 13th at Kim Duffy's house – details to follow.

Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday, September 6th @ Meadows

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Judy B., Bonnie, Debbie, Nancy, Kim, and C.J.  Sitting in was Dee K to discuss B-Team Fun Day September 26th.

 

Dee:  B Team Fun Day – so far, only 6 people have signed up for Fun Day.  The deadline is Sept 12th.   If 48 players do not sign up, Fun Day will be canceled.  The game for that day will be Cha, Cha, Cha.  Entry fee is  $70. 

 

 

Nancy:  The Awards luncheon will be October 18th.   Awards will be handled by Nancy C and Deb Hickey.

 

Judy:  2012 Board Nominees for the MWGA 18 will be posted on the bulletin boards  Also, the nominees' names will be mailed to all league members.  Board members will be voted on at the awards meeting which will be held at a nearby restaurant.

 

Board voted to continue using our web site for the following year.  There will be a $6 monthly fee to maintain the site.

 

A reminder will go out that MWGA 18 will play golf at Foothills September 20th  due to aeration at the Meadows.  It will be a 2 lady best ball playday.

 

Next meeting October 4th after golf.

Meadows Women’s Golf Association 18 Hole League

Board Meeting

July 19, 2011

 

 

Attending:  Colleen Renner, Judy Borgeson, CJ Michael, Teri Reinig, Nancy Calahan,

                    Kim Duffy, Debbie Hickey, Bonnie Kelly

The scoring issue discrepancy discovered during the Handicap Tournament was addressed.  After discussing the issue with Tom Woodard, Colleen stated the score must be corrected, even if the score card has been signed and attested. 

 

Tom Woodard asked the board to remind the league members to check in at least 15 minutes prior to their tee time.  In the interest of making more tee times available to the public, the course would like to be able to move members up to openings in earlier tee times in order to not send out threesomes.

A reminder to check in 15 minutes or more prior to tee time is posted on the web site.

 

Member Guest Tournament:  Monica Thompson and Judy Weeks

August 23, 2011

The tournament will be a shotgun start.

The course will give entrants the senior green fee rate.

The format is “Cha, Cha, Cha”.  The theme is salsa or Mexican, with a Mexican buffet.  Teri Reinig will print scorecards.  The entry fee is tentatively $75.00 per person.

Monica requested donations for door prizes.

Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday June 29th @ Meadows

 

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Brooke, Judy B., Bonnie, Debbie, Nancy, Kim, Teri R., and C.J.

 

Member/Guest Day on hold temporarily.

 

B Team Fun Day at Meadows:  Headed by Dee K. and Bernie L.

 

September 20th – aeration at Meadows.  Play day proposed for Foothills. It was suggested that we invite Foothills members to join us.

 

Bonnie Kelly has joined the board as Historian.

Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday May 17th @ Meadows

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Brooke, Judy B., Nancy, Kim, Teri R., and C.J.

 

The meeting was brief.  Payout for weekly games will be determined by Nancy, according to the number of players participating each week.

 

The Ringer Tournament will have two flights, which will be posted on the web site, and there will be additions of side games, just for fun.

 

Future board meetings will have the first tee times out.

 Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday March 29th @ Meadows

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Brooke, Nancy, Kim

 

President:  Colleen checked with USGA and there is not a limit on the Hole in One pot.  There is no change in policy at this time.  The Pro Shop has requested “Cash Payout Only”.

 

Treasurer:  We are awaiting a budget update from our treasurer, C.J., hopefully, by Orientation.  A budget is yet to be determined for play days.

 

For the enlightenment of all members, there will be a review of holes 3, 6, 8, 9, and 12 at Orientation.

 

Raffle tickets will be available, 6 for $5 or $1 apiece at Orientation

 

All board members are asked to arrive one hour early at Orientation to help with the set up – that would be at approximately 7:30.

 

Kim:  Handicap breakdowns will be published by April 19th.

 

Pictures of board members will be taken at Orientation.  You know what that means:  Hair, makeup and  your brightest smiles..

Meadows Board Meeting

Tuesday March 1st, 2011 @ Village Inn on Ken Caryl Blvd

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Attending were:

 

Colleen, Ann, Brooke, Nancy Calahan, Kim, Judy, Teri

 

Business:

 

Vice President:  Judy reported that various neighborhood and local newspapers are being used to advertise the MWGA 18 Hole League.  Also, bulletin boards at the club and some recreation centers.

 

The membership info for our book needs to be submitted to Judy before April 1st for printing.

 

Colleen said CWGA suggested approaching leagues with waiting lists to mention our league has openings.

 

CWGA also suggested lowering the age restriction to attract younger golfers to the league.

 

Nancy submitted the Playday agenda for the season.  The board approved the final draft.

 

Tournament:  There was extensive discussion regarding rule #11 under tournament rules.  The final revision will be printed in the new membership book.

 

Tee Times:  Brooke has acquired five tee times for those members who wish to play golf following Orientation on April 19th.  Tee times will begin at 10:48.

 

Social:  The price for the Orientation Breakfast will be $15, to be paid at the time of the breakfast, 9:00 April 19th  at the Meadows course.

 

Miscellaneous Discussion:  The board discussed, at length, the payout for the Hole-in-One.  Final wording for payout will appear on the website at the beginning of the season.

 

The meeting was adjourned.  Next meeting is at Meadows, March 29th.  The board may play golf at 8:30, prior to the meeting.

Meadows Transitional Meeting

Tuesday February 10th @ Village Inn on Ken Caryl Blvd

           

The meeting was called to order.

 

Board members and previous board members attending were:

 

Colleen Renner, Ann Caffrey, Brooke Stroup, Nancy Calahan, Dee Klingman, Kim Duffy

 

Miscellaneous business:

 

There was discussion regarding new means of getting new members, such as local papers, facebook, websites, bulletin boards, etc.  Colleen, Nancy and Judy will get together to discuss new and old approaches for membership.

 

Advertising charges:

 

            $50 for inside front and back covers.

            $30 for full page inside ad

            $25 for half page inside ad

 

Prices also include an ad on our website.  All members are encouraged to contact potential advertisers.  Your help is appreciated.

 

Treasurer:

            Books will be audited by C.J., Dee and Colleen.

            Balance carried forward is $1710.49; of that, $560 is restricted.

 

Handicap Chairman Kim Duffy will meet with Kate Scherrer to discuss handicap information.

 

On February 26th, Kim and Colleen will attend the 2011 Annual CWGA meeting at the Inverness Hotel.

 

Social:

Deb Hickey needs to confirm a location for Orientation and golf afterwards.  There will be further discussion at the next meeting.  Tom, Bob and Sue from the Pro Shop will be invited to Orientation via invitation cards from Colleen.

 

B Team:  

            $461 carried over to be used for B Team Fun Day at Meadows September 12th.


The next meeting in March 1st at 12:30 at the Village Inn on Ken Caryl Blvd.  Please RSVP to Colleen.
